Toroki UDLD®
Toroki UDLD® is a complete implemention of IETF RFC standard 5171 - UniDirectional Link Detection protocol from Cisco Systems.
UDLD is a data link layer (layer 2) protocol designed to detect the presence of unidirectional links in copper or fiber networks due to a physical failure of the link or a mis-wiring of fiber strands. A unidirectional link can disrupt the operation of the spanning tree protocol (IEEE 802.1D/w/s) resulting in deficient loop topologies in the network.
UDLD complements the Spanning Tree Protocol (STP) which is used to eliminate layer 2 loops.
Full source code and documentation are included. In addition, Toroki's professional services are available for porting and integration to specific environments.
